This is the first Ram mount I have purchased but order from the TW on a regular basis.  As others have said for wall mounting the pedestal needs to be cut down by 6-8” and is easy enough.  For table top display you need all 12” as provided.

Ordered this kit for a 3.5 year old Rocky Mtn Bighorn ram.  Kit arrived in two days with all the needed hardware as promised.  The instructions for this particular kit could use an upgrade as they appeared to be inaccurate and not very helpful.  Also, the length of the pedestal is excessively long at 12".  For a wall mount, you only need about 5".  I cut 7" off and could have cut more TBH.  The wood, finish, and hardware were top notch and the finished product looks sharp once I made some minor adjustments.
